Bio
Coming from tennis, Michael was introduced and started playing pickleball in 2017 and was immediately hooked!
Having been a coach in several other sports, including tennis, he attended the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) certification workshop in Hilton Head, SC in February of 2020 and received his PPR certification to teach and coach pickleball. In April of 2022, he received his PPR professional-level certification. In February of 2024, he earned his Level 2 professional certification from PPR, their highest coaching certification. In September of 2024, he joined the newly formed RacketPro (RPO) educational organization, led by world champion Collin Johns, as a founding member and pickleball clinician.
Michael founded Spin Pickleball in March 2020 as a platform to share his knowledge and passion through coaching and blogging for the sport of pickleball. In April 2020, he became the Director of Pickleball and Lead Pro Coach at Tyngsboro Sports Center in Tyngsboro, MA, where he continues to offer clinics and lessons. In the spring of 2022, he teamed up with the owner as an advisor/Director of Pickleball to help develop and launch the Ridge Club as a premier pickleball outdoor destination, in Acton MA. In the fall of 2024, he joined the coaching staff of Prime Pickleball in North Andover, MA, and has worked closely with the owners to build up this newly formed pickleball club. He has led pickleball teambuilding functions for corporate leadership teams throughout New England and has run clinics and provided lessons for hundreds of pickleball players, both new to the game and experienced players, across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Florida. He enjoys working with all levels and ages of players and makes it a point to design his lessons to be fun, informative, and impactful.
He’s an active member of PPR, RPO, and the USA Pickleball Association. He serves as a USA Pickleball Association Ambassador and a Brand Ambassador for Engage Pickleball. He regularly competes in pickleball tournaments throughout the northeast having won gold, silver, and bronze medals in tournament play.
